When it comes to tablet we think about the top brands like Apple, Samsung, Sony etc, but what about huawei? Yes, Huawei a chinese based company has launched its remarkable tablet called Huawei Matebook which is a huge competitor for the Apple Ipad Pro and Microsoft Surface Pro tablets. It has been announced at Barcelona in the Mobile World Congress. The main advantage is that this Hybrid gadget can be used as a tablet as well as a Laptop. The optional keyboard case for laptop use is also provided. You can get the huawei matebook specs, release date, price and full review here.
Matebook has a resolution of 2160 X 1440 and a display size of 12 inch. The keyboard that comes with the Matebook can be removed as per the users wish to make it a tablet. The gadget which works in Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Professional OS is ultra thin having a thickness of just 6.9 MM and weighs 640 gram. Like the Huawei MediaPad 2, it feels more expensive than it actually is, and you’ll find higher end features like two speakers embeded in the top of the frame. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. Sensors on the tablet include Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope.
The fingerprint sensor which is installed on one side of the tablet allows us to login to Windows quickly. The sensor which could manage multiple finger prints is very helpful for multiple users to manage the Matebook.
It has comparatively less weight than the Apple Ipad pro which has 713 gram in weight and houses for a 6th generation Intel Core M Processor. The Huawei MateBook will be available in multiple configurations. You can choose a Core m3, m5 or m7 CPU; 4 or 8GB of RAM; and between 128GB and 512GB of flash storage. The 33.4Wh battery should be good for 10 hours of consecutive “general” use and 29 hours of music playback.

Connections and Sensors
The MateBook isn’t at a loss for wireless connections and sensors. It includes both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, wireless standards 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac MIMO and Bluetooth 4.1.
Sensors consist of an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, Hall effect sensor and a snazzy fingerprint sensor built into the power button. There’s also a 5MP fixed focus camera.
Accessories Included
Alongside the keyboard, Huawei will also be selling a couple of other accessories for the MateBook.
The first is a stylus (Mate pen) with 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity for accurate drawing. There are wo buttons on the pen and a novel laser pointer too. It doesn’t feel quite as high-end as the Surface Pen, but the plastic build is sturdy enough.
Also available alongside the hybrid is an adapter, which will connect to the MateBook through USB-C and then give you regular USB-A ports, an Ethernet connection, HDMI and VGA.
The MatePen is made of plastic and seems quite flimsy when compared to the Surface Pro 4 Pen. It has three circular buttons on board. These buttons act as the left and right click mouse buttons as of now. On the opposite end of the MatePen nib is the laser pointer section and pressing the third button in the upper half of the MatePen, powers on the laser light.
The Huawei Mate Book keyboard cover is quite elegant looking. But in terms of resting the tablet section goes, the Mate Book design is more inspired by the Origami cover of the Apple iPad Pro than the kick stand of the Microsoft Surface Pro. Which means that you cannot adjust the angles of the display in case there is a direct light source behind you. That’s an immediate limitation on the Mate Book.
The Huawei Mate Book, just like the Surface Pro 4, sports a full size keyboard. The keyboard resembles Microsoft’s Type cover a lot. The keys on the full size keyboard have a nice feedback and the trackpad is bigger than the one we saw on the Surface Pro 4 which is saying a lot. While using the keyboard we got used to it quite soon, despite the fact that it does not have enough spacing between the keys. The trackpad was responsive when it was on, as there were a lot of demo units where the trackpad just refused to work.
