Meizu is a China based electronic company headquartered in Zhuhai, Guangdong. It is one of the top ten smartphone manufacturer in China. The Meizu M8 was company’s first candybar smartphone launched in April, 2007. Meizu has launched MX5, the company’s latest flagship smartphone at an event in China on June 30, 2015. It has full metal body with magnesium alloy frame and two small plastic inlays running through the back panel to assure better radio signals without any trouble. 149 gm in weight made it slightly heavier than its predecessor Meizu MX4 which was launched in market on September 2, 2014. It has very unique technology that is mBack touch sensitive home button that offers different functions based on press and also has mTouch 2.0 fingerprint recognition technology for payments using mPay.
Design and Display
The smartphone features a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display screen with 1920 x 1080 pixels of screen resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 as a protective layer. It supports 10000:1 contrast ratio, which is almost near about the limit of naked eyes which provide display screen with good amount of brightness, sharpness and impressive colors. At 441 ppi pixel per density super AMOLED display actively reduce power consumption to zero. The smartphone has dimensions of149.9mm x 74.7mm x 7.6mm and weighs around 149gms. It is 1.3 mm thinner than previous model that is Meizu Mx4. It is easy to carry and use because of lightness and firmness of the device. The smartphone looks splendid when you saw time and impresses users with fine looking details. This time the company has introduced a completely advanced MiraVision image-processing engine technology. This technology enables you to adjust screen brightness and colors to balance great vision and battery life in all light situations with all your apps.
The Meizu MX5 supports an exceptional 20.7 MP primary camera which produces images with maximum picture resolution of 5248×3936 pixels. Equipped with most advanced new 6P lens and laser-aided focusing technology, you will get amazing clarity when click photos. This smartphone uses laser distance measuring to focus an object in just 0.2 seconds within a range of 50cm. On the other hand, it is equipped with 5 MP front camera with a large f2.0 aperture, for outstanding performance under low light conditions. The smartphone is able to record 4K video at 100fps 720P.

Processor and Memory
The Chinese smartphone maker updates its Flyme 4 to 64-bit Flyme 4.5 for Android functionality. It is powered by Helio X10 Turbo ARM cortex-A5 2.2 GHz x 8 processor collaborated with PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3GB LPDDR3 RAM. The smartphone comes with 3 inbuilt memory options respectively 16/32/64 GB. There is no memory card slot for memory expansion.
Connectivity
In terms of connectivity it supports 4G FDD-LTE / TD-LTE frequency, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/b/g/n, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz) support, Bluetooth 4.1, USB connectivity, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS. It supports Hall Effect sensor, Gravity sensor, IR proximity sensor, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, touch sensor, digital compass also for detection and convey information. The company has upgraded fingerprint sensor on the MX5. They have introduced a new mTouch 2.0 identification chip on the smartphone. The mTouch 2.0 makes your life more secure and convenient.
Battery
The MX5 comes with mCharge technology for quick charging. It is powered by non-removable Li-Ion 3150 mAh battery. Mcharge can recharge a MX5 battery up to 25% within 10 minutes and up to 60% within 40 minutes.
Shades and Price
The company has launched this smartphone in four vibrant color combinations Gray, Gold, Silver, Black/Silver. It is priced at Rs. 19,999 for the 16GB variant (32GB & 64GB variants not launched in India).
